Located in the boutique town of Warkworth, an easy one hours drive North of Auckland CBD, we’re right on the doorstep of the most beautiful cruising grounds in, yes, we said it, “the world”. The area boasts vineyards, cafes, restaurants, arts, crafts, surf beaches, and many other interesting diversions for those subscribers to the all work and no play philosophy. Our hugely experienced and highly qualified tutors are ready and waiting to welcome you aboard.

Admission
Entry Criteria
Age: International students must be over 18 years of age.
English Language Proficiency: Mahurangi Technical Institute is not an English language school, therefore a competent level and understanding of the English language is required prior to acceptance on to any programme.
If you are in doubt regarding your English proficiency please complete an IELTS (or similarly approved NZQA test) of which you will require a minimum 5.5 pass or 6.0 for the MIT Certificate in Aquatic Studies. Please attach to the enrolment form a copy of any IELTS or equivalent test results.
Accommodation
There are several accommodation options for students who are looking to stay in the area while studying with us. If none of the following options suit your needs, are booked out, or you would prefer a home stay please contact Ray Burt (Student Liaison) on 09 425 8493 to discuss your options and what we can do to assist you.
1. The Oaks – Affordable Accommodation – Central Warkworth and Matakana
Three houses with a range of affordable rooms – double, single and twin share. Fully equipped kitchen and fully furnished. Linen supplied if required. Off street parking. Priced from $120.00 – $185.00 per week per person.
2. Warkworth Lodge
Situated within walking distance from MTI, Warkworth Lodge has several different accommodation options available.
Flashpacker Rooms – With a single bed, shared bathroom facilities and self catering. Student rates apply.
Villa Rooms – With a queen bed and ensuite. Student rates apply.
3. Sheep World (Vehicle needed)
Situated a four minute minute drive North of Warkworth and offers several options for accommodation.
$30.00 per night per person. Short and long term caravan and bunk house, to suit all types of accommodation needs.

4. Happy Dayz Accommodation
Set on the coast near the beaches, vineyards, restaurants and cafes. 15 minutes from Warkworth township. A three minute drive to Omaha Beach and popular Matakana Village. Swimming pool and spa available.
